Revolutionizing laboratory evolution of microorganisms

Simple

Scalable

Affordable

Evoducta's patent-pending technology utilizes single-use components to facilitate the continuous cultivation of microorganisms for weeks or even months without any necessary interventions, and can be placed in standard laboratory incubators.

This approach allows for a large number of parallel evolution experiments for enhancing desired phenotypes, such as improved growth on novel substrates or resistance to inhibitors, while minimizing resource use and significantly reducing the risk of contamination.

About

Evoducta was founded by dr. Jeroen Koendjbiharie (left) and dr. Herwig Bachmann (right)—the inventor of the technology—who both work in the Systems Biology Lab at The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Jeroen is a postdoc in the group of Herwig, and is an expert in microbial physiology and metabolism. Herwig has over 20 years of experience in food- and biotechnology. His work focuses on the optimization of industrial fermentation processes and experimental evolution is a key expertise.
